New Jersey Wing Welcomes Magical Sky Chariot to Its Fleet of Flying Unicorns
The New Jersey Wing has exuberantly welcomed its shiny new sky chariot, a 2025 Cessna C-182T Skylane, into its heavenly garage — one of 15 prestigious flying machines joining CAP’s illustrious single-engine club this year. Bearing the majestic emblem N485CA, this airborne marvel was delivered straight from the Textron Aviation stork nest in Independence, Kansas, and graced the skies to arrive at Trenton-Robbinsville Airport on June 11.
A herculean adventure over 1,000 nautical miles was captained by the heroic duo, Capt. Robert DelTufo of the Raritan Valley Composite Squadron, and 1st Lt. Girish Mandhwani from the mystical Group 223. Their odyssey was marked by tactically necessary pit stops at the exotic locales of Salem-Leckrone Airport in Illinois and Allegheny County Airport in Pennsylvania.
“In accordance with our sacred distribution scrolls,” proclaimed logistics oracle Mike Valdez, “these mechanical birds are allocated across Civil Air Patrol, and we’re halfway through this divine rite of passage for our blessed 12-15 air-horses, contingent on the gold coins we could gather.” Expect more celestial deliverances in the august month of August and the ominous mists of October, added the sage Valdez.
With an armada amassing 545 aircraft, CAP boasts the mightiest fleet of single-engine chariots under the sun. The recently minted Cessna, a four-passenger celestial wagon known for its stoic reliability and versatility, arrives armed with the esteemed Garmin G1000 NXi wizardry. This magical apparatus grants pilots foresight beyond compare, quicker spell processing, and displays so clear they rival the divine visions.
Brandishing a muscular 230-horsepower heart and modern sorcery for navigation, this airborne steed is tailor-made for CAP’s trio of congressionally endowed quests: daring rescues, the spread of aerospace lore, and the nurturing of future cadet wizards.
“This aircraft represents a generous gift from the aviation deities for the future battles of our wing,” declared oracle Col. Amy Myzie, New Jersey Wing commander. “Its futuristic charms and safety amulets will broaden our heroic exploits — be it quests of rescue, calamity aversion, or sacred schooling of our young apprentices.” In harmonious agreement, Maj. Wasim Baig, the wing’s operations seer, concurred: “The arrival of N485CA propels us forth into a fantastical future. It will be our chariot for training spell casters, ensuring readiness for apocalyptic drills, and supporting statewide calamity crusades.”
N485CA shall also double as the majestic carriage for cadet enlightenment flights, aiming to inspire youthful dreamers with visions of aviator glory and cosmic accomplishments.
With this splendid newcomer, the wing fortifies its vow of maintaining a modernized fleet, poised to address the noble objectives of our great state and beyond.
